Routine Appointment

To request a routine appointment:

  • Call us from 8am - 6pm, Monday to Friday
  • Visit our Reception desk when the surgery is open and speak to one of our Administration Team

If you want a specific Doctor you are likely to wait some time, most likely a week. This is normal procedure.

Please be patient and courteous with our Admin Team. They will always do their best to help you whilst following the wishes of our Clinical Team.

Urgent Appointment

Emergencies will always take priority.

On the day appointments are released at 8am for emergency / on the day issues

Call us on 01620 842171

When you call the surgery our Admin Team will ask the reason for your call. This is so we can assess how best to deal with your enquiry, who is best to deal with your issue and what time frame is appropriate. You will be asked if you would prefer a telephone or a face-to-face consultation.

If you request a telephone consultation you will be advised if this will be in the morning or afternoon but we will be unable to give you an exact time.

Face-to-face consultations will be given an exact time to attend the Practice.

If your call is something which is urgent that day, then our Duty Doctor will phone you back. This may not be the Doctor you usually attend.

Home visits

Please try to phone before 10am for a GP Home Visit.

The Doctor may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or arrange a hospital attendance.

Home visits are for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.

Several patients can be seen in the surgery in the time it takes to do one house visit and there are much better facilities for examining and treating patients at the surgery.

Nursing Team Appointments

Our Practice Nurses and Health Care Assistant are available to see patients by appointment only.

The Practice Nurses provide blood pressure checks, warfarin monitoring, heart disease, diabetes and respiratory reviews. They also carry out cervical smears, specific prescribed injections, family planning advice and contraceptive pill reviews. The will also advise and support patients with regards to weight loss and smoking cessation.

Our Health Care Assistant is here to provide our phlebotomy service (taking bloods), blood pressure checks and warfarin monitoring. She also offers specific clinic times for some of our chronic disease patients. Please make sure to inform our Reception Team with the reason for your appointment when booking.

For all nursing appointment requests our Reception Team will ask what the appointment is for and will book the most appropriate nurse and appointment type required.
