CHANGE TO SURGERY SERVICE

Gullane Medical Practice can advise that we have had no confirmed cases of Coronavirus from our list of registered patients.

Due to the ongoing outbreak we are putting in place a series of measures to keep all our patients and staff as safe as we possibly can:

- From Monday 16th March, for the foreseeable future, open surgery will be suspended and all patients will be required to call the surgery on: 01620 842171 and be triaged by phone by GP. Practice Nurse appointments will also be triaged and called accordingly. You will be asked for a summary of your symptoms, information regarding recent travel and if you have been in direct contact with a person who has tested positive for Coronavirus. The GP will contact you by return phone call and if deemed safe and necessary then you may be given an appointment.

- If you have already been given a pre booked appointment with a GP or Nurse we will be in touch directly to discuss arrangements.

- If you have any concerns regarding hospital appointments or travel please visit www.nhsinform.scot and/or www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk.

We would like to thank all our patients for their understanding and ask if you could share this information as widely as possible.

TRAVEL INFORMATION available under 'Clinics & Services' . Please read before contacting the practice.

Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).

The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines.  Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
