Appointments

Why does the receptionist need to know what's wrong with me?

The Practice operates an open access surgery system in the mornings and early afternoon.  Appointments are available most evenings from 5pm.  Surgery times are listed under Opening Hours.

Patients attending at open surgery times are seen in order of arrival, no appointment is required. Occasionally a GP may see fit to call a patient out of order, this is a medical decision and at their discretion. Reception has no say in this event.

There are normally two Doctors on for each open surgery. If you wish to see a particular Doctor please inform the Receptionist.  The doctors only  have a limited amount of time to see each patients and respectfully ask you not to attend with a long list of problems that you would like to discuss in one consultation.  They may ask you to attend at another time if you have a list of 3 or more medical issues that you want to discuss.

The appointment you are given is for you. Please do not expect the doctor to also have a consultation about other members of your family in one allocated appointment.  If you wish to consult about another member of your family then please ask for 2 appointments and book one in the name of that person so the doctor can have the appropriate records prepared.

Please see "Consulting Times" under the Opening Hours section of the website for details of which doctors are on which day.

Emergencies will always take priority.
