Staff Absence - 28/06/2022
Unfortunately as a result of staff absence due to illness, we will be short staffed for the remainder of this week.
Please be assured that we are doing everything possible to provide the best service we can and all our available staff will be working overtime to ensure this happens.
Please bear with us.
As always we appreciate your understanding.
Change To Surgery Appointments - from Monday 6th June 2022
Due to the change in COVID restrictions and the need to allow more normality for patients coming back into the practice we are making slight changes to the way in which appointments are made.
- Pre-book appointments in advance. These are aimed at routine or follow up issues
- On the day appointments are released at 8am for emergency / on the day issues
When making the appointment you will be asked if would prefer a Telephone Consultation or a Face to Face Consultation.
- If you request a call back the receptionist will advise you if you will receive the GP call either in the morning or afternoon but unfortunately we cannot give exact times
- For a Face to Face Consultation you will be given a time to attend the Surgery
We kindly ask that you wear a face covering where possible when attending your appointment.
When you call us….
When you call the surgery out admin team will ask for some information about the reason for your call. This is so we can assess how best to deal with your call, who is best to deal with your issue and what time frame is appropriate.
If your call is something which is urgent that day, then our Duty Doctor will call you back.
This may not be the Doctor your usually attend.
If you want a specific Doctor of it is a routine matter you are likely to wait some time, most likely a week.
This is normal procedure.
Please be patient and courteous with our Admin Team. They will always do their best to help you whilst following the wishes of our Clinical Team.
As of January 2022, we no longer accept prescription requests over the telephone. This is in line with a number of practices in East Lothian, who also no longer offer a telephone prescription service. The easiest and most convenient way for patients to do this is by ordering online through our website, in person by completing a repeat prescription form available from reception or by signing up to your local pharmacy repeat prescription service.
DO NOT CONTACT THE PHARMACY DIRECTLY BY TELEPHONE TO ORDER YOUR PRESCRIPTION.
By making this significant change, we hope that it will make it easier for patients to get through to the practice on the telephone for all other medical issues.
Your help and cooperation is appreciated.
