Noticeboard

As many of you already know Dr Findlay is going to have a baby soon. She finishes here for her maternity leave at the end of June and will return in a year. Filling her shoes for that time we are delighted to welcome back Dr Michelle Devin. Everyone here at the surgery would like to wish Dr Findlay all the very best for the coming months.

The new Sick Kids hospital is opening on the 9th of July within the grounds of the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

We would like to take a minute to inform you all that our lovely Practice Nurse, Beth Stewart will be leaving us for pastures new at the Western General Hospital in April. Although we are sad to say farewell we are delighted for her in her new role. So from the Practice Team and no doubt yourselves as patients we wish her all the very best!

We would also like to inform you all that we will be welcoming our new Business Manager, Martin Duffy in May. Martin has an extensive knowledge in Practice Management and we look forward to having him on board. He will be responsible for all business, financial and contractual obligations for the Practice and we look forward to seeing him shine here at Gullane.

Patients who are visiting and staying in the Practice area may be seen at the Practice as Temporary Residents.  Anyone requiring to be seen by a doctor should attend the Practice and complete the necessary forms to allow the reception staff to temporarily register you on the Practice computer system.

Once your details have been recorded you will be able to see a doctor for a consultation.  This will generaly mean that you will have to wait until the next available surgery session before being seen.

Visitors from Overseas will be asked to provide proof of identity in the form of a passport. If you are exempt from NHS charges you will be required to provide the appropriate evidence eg. An EHIC Card, Visa documentation, employer letter etc.
If you are not sure whether you are eligible for treatment on the NHS please contact the Surgery and the staff will advise you.

Anyone not eligible for treatment on the NHS can be seen as a private patient and pay for a consultation and prescription charges.
