We would like to take a minute to inform you all that our lovely Practice Nurse, Beth Stewart will be leaving us for pastures new at the Western General Hospital in April. Although we are sad to say farewell we are delighted for her in her new role. So from the Practice Team and no doubt yourselves as patients we wish her all the very best!

We would also like to inform you all that we will be welcoming our new Business Manager, Martin Duffy in May. Martin has an extensive knowledge in Practice Management and we look forward to having him on board. He will be responsible for all business, financial and contractual obligations for the Practice and we look forward to seeing him shine here at Gullane.

Test Results

Please do not assume that the doctors will phone you with test results.  The Doctors request that you contact the surgery to enquire about the results of any tests you have had carried out.

tests_and_resultsPlease call between 10 and 3pm to enquire about your test results as our reception staff will have more time to deal with your request between these times.

Note that the Practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.

When you have a test done ask how long it will be before the results are returned to the practice. In general we would request that you leave a period of one week from having the tests taken until telephoning for the result.  This gives time for the samples to be tested at the labs, reported back to us and checked by the doctors.

It is your responsibility to check your results and to make an appointment to discuss them with your doctor if your are advised to do so.

Samples being handed in to the surgery need to be handed in at Reception before 12 noon or they may not be processed and you will have to repeat the test.
